Warioland 2 US Version Test For Color Codes
warioland 2Sad to say, but the US version of Warioland 2 does not seem to have the full color codes programmed. EAGB, tested the cart on a Color GameBoy and was disappointed to note that Warioland 2 used a palette of less than 10 colors. This would thus categorize Warioland 2 as a Type 1 game pack (as noted in the Color GameBoy manual), which means it uses only 4 - 10 colors. But Warioland 2 is Super GameBoy compatible, and so we figured that it would translate into a Type 2 game pak which uses up to 56 colors out of a palette of 32,000.

We were wrong! The Color GameBoy didn't even emulate the Super GameBoy color palette, as was evident in the start scene that didn't show any blue or green. The 12 built-in color palettes of the Color GameBoy, however, worked just fine.
Game & Watch Gallery 2
game and watch 2EAGB, ever curious, also tried the Japanese version of Game & Watch Gallery 2, since it will be released for the US launch of the Color GameBoy. Alas, there didn't seem to be any color codes hidden in the pack as well. To add insult to injury, the Color GameBoy didn't emulate the SGB color palette, although Game & Watch Gallery 2 is also SGB compatible.

Eric, however, believes that it's a conspiracy, and that the color codes are programmed. He thinks that it can be unlocked by a secret button and control pad combination. So far, he has tried about 1,000 combinations of the age old favorite - up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, A, B, Start. Good luck Eric...
Multi-Cart Pirated Game Paks Test On Color GameBoy
multi game cartMany of you have written in to ask if pirated multi-carts worked with the Color GameBoy. EAGB has made it clear that it neither condones nor encourages pirated games, but as a point of interest, Valerie did try some multi-carts and found that they worked just fine on her Color GameBoy. It's nice to note that the CGB's backward compatibility extends even to pirated game paks. The multicarts functioned as normal, and color compatability will depend on what type of game pak it is as described in the CGB instruction manual.
